sentient extensions and radiant artifacts

eve after the end

a monk once said... "observe your mind
habits are your old problems, your old ignorance
you need to know your mind
it's just understanding life
have to get it straight, before everything else
you must understand this mind
true mind and delusional mind
finally you can see your true nature"

habits are your old problems
when people, live together, habits live together, old problems live together
and sometimes
split us apart
only to try again - again - again - again

a monk once said... "if you see through the world, and let go of it, this is wisdom
if you see through it, but don't let it go,
that's just talking zen"
you have to let go of it too
all of it
all of it
all of it

some could say - they see through this world, and let go of this world
all of it
all of it
all of it

but still - here we are - people - lots of us
and still - here i am - there you are - right now
and somehow - everyone seems to hold a wish
if only, we could be without these problems
if only, we could overcome these habits
like a dream you are always chasing after
chasing chasing chasing - but never seeming to catch it

if people - would realize - would see through it all - would let go
maybe that chase would end

letting the past go, letting those habits go, letting everything that
keeps us at odds with ourselves and each other go,
and focusing on the moment, on what is and how we can contribute,
improve, do good, help out, provide, support, guide, toward balance,
toward health, toward working together to alleviate the ill effects of
all those old problems,
bad habits, and the consequences of their conflicts

so what is world peace after all
so what is a balanced relationship after all - with anything and anyone,
with the planet and with your father, neighbor, stranger
so what is a happy family after all

what keeps you from it, what keeps us from it

a monk once said... "you can't be afraid of hardships
the more the hardship
the more you move forward
there is this physical hardship
but the mental hardship is most important
if you see a demon, it is your mind
it's not just any demon
you don't want to grasp hold of it
don't fear it, don't hurt it
just sit and don't move
something happens outside, you let go of it
examine yourself
meditate quietly"

when you look in the eyes, of your closest kin
when you look in the eyes, of those you've never known
try to remember - those old problems, those habits can speak for you, can act for you
but won't suffer the consequences for you
you will suffer the consequences, and can make others suffer with you
if you so choose

and just the same
a person that has disciplined themself to act with upmost integrity
respect, honesty, compassion
realizes,
they do not want to suffer the consequences of those old problems
of those bad habits
realizes,
they do not want those around them, or anyone, anywhere
neither the planet, or their brother
to suffer the consequences of those old problems, and bad habits
and can choose to direct that energy elsewhere
can practice as often and as much as possible
to direct that energy elsewhere

to anything whatsoever, that creates balance rather than imbalance
that fosters wisdom rather than ignorance
that promotes compassion rather than conflict
that represents cooperation rather than competition
that helps rather than hurts, that heals rather than wounds
that nourishes rather than starves
that releases rather than torments
that embraces rather than running away
from the truth

which is
when people, live together, habits live together, old problems live together
and sometimes
split us apart
only to try again - again - again - again

a monk once said... "if you see through the world, and let go of it, this is wisdom
if you see through it, but don't let it go,
that's just talking zen"
you have to let go of it too
all of it
all of it
all of it

some could say - they see through this world, and let go of this world
all of it
all of it
all of it

and when you let go of this world, the whole world opens for you
"leaving the world is a means to return to it"
delusions disappear
and our wish
to be without these problems
to overcome these habits
to wake up from this dream
catch our breath

can come true

so breathe deeply

realize we are here
if we want to be
