we paint with oils, metallics, alchemical elements and a more flexible medium for capturing and passing on ahead, the Vision of each age to the future... more moldable - configurable - combining colors - combining pigments to try and achieve a translation - the painter of this age might say 'i wish to communicate the beauty of what my eyes now see and my heart now feels - i wish to communicate it to the best of my abilities - and though i may not fully know why at all times, i still fully trust that what i am inspired and compelled to create and communicate, is a valid contribution to something grand and beautiful... to life itself... may it inspire those after me to also trust in their own capacity to participate in co-creating something real and eternal'

photographic mediums - we begin at simplest black and white - transposing an image of ourselves that we recognized as SO REAL! life-like! a mirror image! the real thing... starting simple - black and white and shades of gray - a yin yang exposure capturing the psychic image - a split second of time - a single frame in the movie we previously knew to be 'life'...

as black and white began to spin faster and faster - the technology began to move - the motion picture - we see that life happens in a succession of frames - frames of reference, frames of mind... we discover that we are now moving at a much faster rate - our eyes can receive, interpret and reflect information/media at greater and greater speeds and proportions, we can see moving pictures of realistic quality - we can see the vision that is being communicated to us via another person (or by our self)... the inflection of the projection...

as speed picked up, we found ourselves over the rainbow... color seeps into the frames now - color saturates the field of vision, and communicates our living reality to such close detail! and not only does it accurately convey every hue and tone and shade of life, we can even manipulate it to look like A DREAM...

the projection dove deep into the theatre of nuit - the void which is the source and return of all signal...

we, you and i, could not communicate at all without this Source, because it is the medium between EVERYTHING - if at any point, you were to remove it, we would cease to exist, we would have no way to communicate - between our environment, between each other... without this medium, there is nothing...

what do we communicate with the most? what is the medium that all human beings use? the human body... human beings use their bodies to communicate EVERYTHING - we speak with our mouths, our eyes, our facial expressions, our hands, our movements, our dexterity, our competence with handling material well, our graceful dance in the sensory realm...

this sensory realm sets a standard - a standard system which we all operate on... it is called the human nervous system... neuronal communications interpreting extra-sensory information...

our extra-sensory perceptions teach us how to read each other beyond the physical/sensory communications... it teaches us to recognize the function of these advanced communications and the purpose of being able to transcend all limited propositions or superstitions which block integrated intuition...it teaches us to focus on the creative potential of transcendental media...

as films rolled to their peak, the medium exhausted itself in specialization - the technology was not really made for everyday people... it was technical, professional, selective... but gradually portions of it were made available, and more and more people were able to produce their own media, in ever evolving consumer-oriented 'home' technologies which allowed people to control their hyper-communications in more and more effective ways...

for environmental and elemental reasons, film cannot handle the demand for reflection - something with far less physical impact - something more, EPHEMERAL - something, DIGITAL... only this kind of medium could handle the rate of reflection necessary to break through the veil between ABOVE and BELOW - between male and female - between black and white - between day and night - between on and off - between yes and no - between stop and go - between everything that there is to be between... between all duality...

now enter video cameras - home video began on celluloid film viewed by light projection - linear scaled-down meta-morphed film-reels... early video quality was considered inappropriate for major communications projects - it was too realistic - watching something use it as an artistic medium of expression was generally un-nerving (interpreted often as "i much prefer the quality of film...") - "if feels like you are watching someone else's home-movies..." while this was a valid interpretation, it still does not take away from the uniqueness of the video medium in capturing something that is not only realistic on an acute sensory level, it is also realistic on an acute EXTRA-SENSORY level...

digital video cameras broke through a great deal of this linear barrier... the common effect of watching old home videos, or viewing the media we have personally produced in the past (travelling backward in time) is generally uncomfortable... but it will produce an over-emotional effect only until such time as the person is able to communicate objectively - neutrally - in a balanced way... WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET, and re-viewing our own life's media (and especially now, with video being 'too realistic', when we experience something in the past to such a real extent we naturally have no wish to repeat it) brings use closer to a point of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual equilibrium...

the better the self-referred picture of ourselves becomes, the better the picture of our media becomes... our media is our reality... because media is produced via a medium, and we are that medium, watching someone else's media leads people to believe they are part of someone else's reality - a surrogate medium distracting the attention at a rate that keeps other potential mediums from discovering their own capabilities to co-create... consuming your own media - self-referring - refining the way you communicate (via whatever medium you use) and developing your abilities to receive, transmit, and interact thru the sensory and extra-sensory in-phi-knit in-formational interface we know as 'life on earth', leads to FUSION... fusion is when the media and the medium are one - the pot and the potter - full creative access to the Source of all energy, for the manifestation of whatever reality we wish to explore, as fully developed response-able individuals who understand the designed/intended use and impact of thought, will, and direction...

non-linear editing and digital photography and videography reveal that the level at which we are oscillating is becoming more and more coherent by the moment - the quality is high (digital quality is far surpassing all previous mediums in the amount of data captured and transferred, as well as making it far easier to creatively edit, manipulate, transform, and re-assemble the data), the impact is low (a person/end user gets a digital camera once and after that point eliminates the production any more unnecessary physical waste) - the reflection is syncing faster and faster - and what we see is both completely realistic / true-to-life and completely magical - we are now having an experience where our self-generated media is seamlessly reflecting a fused state of sensory and extra-sensory perception...

if you follow the spectrum through early color films to technicolor classics, you can see the psychic perception of the collective unconscious - the medium captures the LIGHT it is exposed to... if you follow the spectrum through early color home movies to present day digital home video, you can see the psychic perception of the collective consciousness - the medium records the increasingly complex color and vibration combinations of 'real life'... when we look at 'old movies' the colors and the texture of the medium always reflect the time - the media each successive decade had its own "look"... the present spectrum is digital - 256 million colors with infinite living combinations...

what we are seeing is not merely a copy - a technologically recorded moment in time that we can play back whenever we want... to take this perspective is to ignore the collective efforts of every human being, every earthly element, every transcendent innovative idea that went into the creation - manifestation - materialization and distribution of the reflective tools we know generally as 'technology'... what we are seeing - hearing - feeling, what we are interacting with and via, is the psychic, biological, spiritual totality of our whole human experience...
